The Russian company "Kvant" has introduced a 50-qubit quantum computer. The device is capable of solving optimization and modeling tasks hundreds of times faster than classical supercomputers. First deliveries are planned for 2027.

Editorial comment: A quantum computer — sounds like something out of science fiction. 50 qubits — almost like Google, but ours. True, it's not entirely clear who will buy it and why, when we don't even have enough ordinary computers. But perhaps it's just the first step towards us being able to say, "We have a quantum computer!" And that's already a victory. The editorial opinion may not coincide with the position of the authors and other experts.
