From July 7, 2026, fines for authorization on websites and in apps through foreign services (Apple ID, Google, etc.) come into force in Russia. Now login is allowed only through Russian systems: Russian telecom operator phone number, State Services, Unified Biometric System, or VK ID / Yandex ID. Fines: for citizens — up to 20,000 RUB, for individual entrepreneurs — up to 50,000 RUB, for legal entities — up to 700,000 RUB.

At the same time, fines are introduced for violations in the use of recommendation technologies (algorithms that offer products, videos, news based on user preferences). Website owners are required to inform users about the operation of such algorithms and publish rules for their use. For the first violation — up to 700,000 RUB, for a repeat — up to 2.8 million RUB. Fines will be applied to those who do not have time to rebuild after July 7.

True, it's unclear who will check exactly how the user logs into the site — through a Russian ID or still through Google. But apparently, the regulatory authorities are already preparing magic scripts and targeted analytics. The main thing is that they don't forget to warn us about this before they issue the fine.
